As part of Benha National University’s commitment to supporting applied education and enhancing the integration between academic study and practical experience, the Faculty of Engineering organized a distinguished scientific visit for its students to the institutes of the National Water Research Center. The visit included the Hydraulics Research Institute, the Mechanical and Electrical Research Institute, and the Construction Research Institute.

The visit was attended by Dr. Mahmoud El-Refaie, Director of the Engineering Programs, and Dr. Mohamed Anwar, a faculty member, along with a number of students. It aimed to expose them to the latest scientific and research applications in the fields of engineering and water resources.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Noha Kamal, Director of the Mechanical and Electrical Research Institute, who delivered a comprehensive presentation on the institute’s research and applied activities, key areas of work, and potential opportunities for future collaboration with universities. Students also attended a scientific session on cathodic protection technologies and their applications in safeguarding critical infrastructure, in addition to an overview of the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques in modeling pumping stations.

The visit also included a field tour inside the research laboratories of the three institutes, where students were introduced to the latest equipment and technologies, as well as the solar cell systems and practical experiments that reflect advanced research capabilities.

This visit comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to prepare qualified engineering graduates capable of innovation, keeping pace with labor market demands, and effectively contributing to sustainable development
