Benha National University Wins Second Place in the Medical Track at the ITC-EGYPT 2026 International Engineering Innovation Competition
Benha National University has won second place in the Medical Track of the ITC-EGYPT 2026 International Engineering Innovation Competition, held as part of the 6th International Telecommunication Conference (ITC-EGYPT 2026), organized by the Egyptian Military Academy from 27 to 30 July 2026 at its headquarters in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.
The conference brought together universities, researchers, and specialists in communications, intelligent technologies, and engineering systems, alongside leading experts and research institutions from Egypt and abroad.
The University received the award for Re-Move, an innovative project developed by students from the Communications Systems Engineering Program, Faculty of Engineering. The project aims to develop a smart wearable device for upper-limb rehabilitation, enabling patients to continue physiotherapy at home through a smart application that provides continuous monitoring, improves the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs, and supports the use of modern technologies in healthcare.

The project was supervised by Prof. Mahmoud El-Refay, Director of Programs, Faculty of Engineering, and Prof. Dina Hosny El-Naggar, Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering.
The competition is one of the scientific events held alongside the 6th International Telecommunication Conference, an international platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing the latest research and innovations in communications and advanced technologies. Its scientific program featured research sessions, keynote lectures, workshops, and presentations of innovative projects, fostering collaboration between universities, research institutions, and industry.
Prof. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, congratulated the student team and the academic staff who supervised the project, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the University's students' excellence and their ability to apply engineering knowledge to develop practical solutions that address societal needs while keeping pace with rapid technological advances.
Prof. Samir further affirmed that supporting innovation and scientific research remains among the University's highest priorities.
