Minister of Higher Education Inspects Benha National University on the First Day of the Academic Year

On the first day of the academic year, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, paid an official visit to Benha National University in Obour City as part of his inspection tours to ensure the smooth commencement of studies and the regularity of the academic process. The visit was attended by senior academic and executive leaders from Benha University and Benha National University.

During the visit, the Minister toured lecture halls, classrooms, and laboratories, and reviewed the University’s modern technological infrastructure, which is designed to support an advanced and high-quality learning environment. He also met with a number of students, encouraging them to actively engage in learning, research, and critical thinking as they begin their university journey.
Dr. Ashour commended the completion of the operational university buildings and stressed the importance of adhering to implementation timelines for the remaining facilities, in accordance with international standards of quality, safety, and security. He highlighted the significant support provided by the national leadership in establishing national universities equipped with advanced technological and digital infrastructure comparable to leading global institutions.
The Minister emphasized the importance of the continuous presence of university leadership and faculty members from the first day of classes to ensure academic discipline, in addition to organizing orientation activities to familiarize students with academic programs and study systems.

He further explained that national universities affiliated with public universities aim to introduce innovative academic programs aligned with future labor market needs, expand interdisciplinary studies, strengthen international partnerships, and contribute to sustainable development in new urban communities.
Dr. Adel Abdel Ghaffar, Media Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry’s Official Spokesperson, stated that Benha National University is located in Obour City and spans an area of approximately 37 acres, with a total investment cost of nearly 3 billion EGP.

He added that the University offers a wide range of distinguished academic programs during the 2022/2023 academic year. The Faculty of Engineering provides programs in Manufacturing and Materials Engineering, Mechatronics and Automation Engineering, Communication Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Construction, Housing, and Community Design Engineering.
The Faculty of Computer Science offers programs in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Computational Linguistics, Data Science, Software and Application Development, and Virtual and Augmented Reality.
The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration offers programs in Business Administration and International Relations, Statistics and Insurance, Digital Marketing and E-Business, International Economics and Finance, and Accounting and Business Informatics.

The Faculty of Visual Arts and Design provides programs in Interior and Furniture Design, Media and Communication Arts, Sculpture, Architectural Formation, and Restoration.
In addition, the Faculty of Medicine offers the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program.
