The “AQUAVENTURES” team wins the “Team Spirit Award” at the MATE ROV 2026 Competition
In a new achievement reflecting Benha University’s excellence in scientific and technical forums, the Faculty of Engineering achieved a commendable performance in the MATE Egypt Regional ROV Competition 2026, hosted by the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, with the participation of elite engineering students from various universities.
The participation took place under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Tamer Samir, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Hussein Al-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Saeed, Engineering Advisor to the Board of Trustees and Dean of the Faculty of Engineering in Shubra, as part of the University’s commitment to supporting innovation and enhancing the practical skills of its students.
This year, the Faculty of Engineering participated with two outstanding teams, RoboCore and AQUAVENTURES, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Al-Rifai, Director of Programs at the Faculty of Engineering, and with academic supervision from Dr. Hossam Ramadan and Dr. Dina Hosni Al-Naggar, continuing a successful journey that began last year, where both teams delivered a strong performance reflecting an advanced scientific and practical level.
These efforts were crowned with the AQUAVENTURES team receiving the “Team Spirit Award,” in recognition of the high team spirit, effective cooperation, and professional discipline they demonstrated throughout the competition, embodying the core values of successful engineering work.
Prof. Dr. Tamer Samir emphasized that this achievement reflects the university students’ ability to transform theoretical knowledge into impactful practical applications, stressing that the team spirit embodied by the students represents one of the most important criteria for success in modern engineering fields.
