Visit of the Engineering Sector Committee to Equate Engineering Programs at Benha National University

Dr. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, received the committee formed by the Engineering Sector of the Supreme Council of Universities as part of the process of completing the equivalency procedures for the academic programs of the Faculty of Engineering, in preparation for graduating the university’s first cohort of students.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Hussein El-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Saeed, Engineering Advisor to the University’s Board of Trustees; and Dr. Mahmoud Refai, Director of Programs at the Faculty of Engineering.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Emad El-Sherbiny, Professor of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, and with the membership of Dr. Moataz El-Sisi, Professor in the Mechatronics Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, visited the Faculty of Engineering at Benha National University to evaluate the equivalency of the Communication Systems Engineering program and the Mechatronics and Automation Engineering program. The committee reviewed the educational capabilities, laboratories, and infrastructure, in addition to the study plans and learning outcomes of the two programs.

Dr. Tamer Samir, President of Benha National University, stated that the visit of the Engineering Sector Committee comes at the same time as the university prepares to graduate its first class of students. He emphasized the university’s commitment to meeting all academic quality standards and providing modern educational programs that keep pace with scientific and technological developments, helping to prepare distinguished graduates capable of competing in the labor market.

For his part, Dr. Hussein El-Maghrabi, Vice President for Academic Affairs, explained that the university gives special attention to completing the equivalency procedures for its academic programs to ensure that the first graduating class meets the highest approved national standards. He confirmed that the programs of the Faculty of Engineering were designed according to the latest scientific references and in line with the needs of the local and regional labor markets. The university is also preparing to receive equivalency review teams for all of its academic programs
